Covalence Global x Plogging Nigeria Club, Project PET House
A multi-faceted project addressing environmental issues, physical exercising, and women's education, Covalence looks forward to partnering with the Plogging Nigeria Club.
We are working with the Plogging Nigeria Club on Project PET House. "Plogging is a combination of jogging and picking up litter in order to facilitate both physical fitness and environmental cleanliness." Additionally, Plogging Nigeria Club strives to rethink how we use plastic after collecting it. Instead of throwing away trash, the club uses plastic to build EcoBricks. By filling plastic bottles with sand, EcoBricks are five times stronger than regular bricks, and they are much cheaper. Thus, they have higher quality AND negative green premiums - the sweet spot that many climate action focused corporations work to reach. Moreover, this project promotes girls' education. Women are paid to collect trash and create EcoBricks, enabling their daughters to stay in school. Furthermore, EcoBricks help build hubs for environmental education (Project PET Houses). Plogging Nigeria has started by experimenting with a seating slab. A multi-faceted project addressing environmental issues, physical exercising, and women's education, Covalence looks forward to partnering with the Plogging Nigeria Club.
